Figma Export to PSD: Rebuild Raster Layers

Export a Figma frame as PNG, then create raster PSD layers with AI. Understand the limits for fonts, components, Auto Layout and design handoff.

What to expect

To use Png2Psd with a Figma design, export an authorized frame as a PNG, JPG or WebP image, then separate that flat export into raster layers. Png2Psd does not import .fig files or connect to your Figma account. Figma components, editable fonts, constraints and Auto Layout are not preserved.

An image-export workflow, not a Figma importer

Export the frame or selection from Figma as a supported image before uploading. There is no direct .fig upload, Figma URL import or account synchronization. Layer separation works from the rendered pixels and creates a new raster composition.

What happens to typography and components?

A rendered frame no longer exposes font objects, component variants, layout constraints or vector paths. AI may isolate their visible appearance, but that does not recreate editable font text or a component tree. Use the original design file for implementation handoff and precise layout specifications.

When this workflow is useful

It can help prepare a flattened mockup or campaign visual for further raster composition when only its image export is available. Inspect small UI text, icon edges and hidden backgrounds. The product-photo case illustrates the separation mechanics; it is not a claimed Figma conversion benchmark.

Practical tips

  • Keep the original Figma file as the source of truth
  • Export a frame at a useful scale with at least 262,144 total pixels
  • Describe broad visual groups such as the product, card and backdrop
  • Recreate live text and vector elements when the Photoshop workflow requires them

How it works

  1. 1Export the authorized Figma frame as PNG or another supported image
  2. 2Upload the export and describe the visual groups you need
  3. 3Inspect the new raster layers, especially text and icons
  4. 4Download PSD and recreate any live typography or vectors in your editor

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a Figma .fig file or URL?

No. Export a PNG, JPG or WebP from Figma first. Png2Psd accepts the flat image, not native Figma files or private links.

Does Figma to PSD preserve Auto Layout and components?

No. The output contains AI-generated raster layers. Auto Layout, components, constraints, fonts and vector paths are not transferred.

Is this an official Figma integration?

No. It is an independent workflow for processing an image you exported and are authorized to edit. It does not access your Figma account.
